Why is it important to work with a LICENSED contractor?
The law requires a contractor's license for kitchen and bath remodel work. If you choose to hire an unlicensed firm, you have no assurance of the level of quality you will be getting, who it is that's doing the work and you will have little recourse if problems arise. At a minimum, ask to see your contractor's "wallet card" showing that they are currently licensed. Additionally, you can verify the contractor's status at the California State License Board www.cslb.ca.gov website. Your contractor should have coverage, or again, YOU and / or your homeowner's insurance company may be liable for damages in the case of an accident.
